QE Health: A New Era of Wellness

“Wellness and healthcare shouldn’t come in a one-size-fits-all approach, each client needs a distinct focus with the outcome being customised,” explains Elisabeth.
QE Health is a wellness centre, specialising in various rehabilitation therapy, therapeutic spa treatments, and in-patient programmes right through to a full-care package, making QE Health a unique facility within New Zealand.

QE healthcare offerings are extensive, including: physiotherapy, psychology, orthotics, dietetics, occupational therapy, rheumatology, appearance medicine, wellness for cancer, massages and gym.
Bigger and better
Beginning as a convalescent hospitalin 1942, to the multi-disciplinary centre for wellness it is today, QE Health is in for an even brighter future with an upcoming new purpose-built facility at Pukeroa Lakefront Holdings’ new lakefront wellness campus in Rotorua.
“The new building will offer a better client experience with high-tech equipment and innovative features while still respecting the iconic QE feel,” enthuses Elisabeth.
The upgrade to the new facility will give QE Health the opportunity to grow their current programmes and services to better cater for a wider range of needs, affirming them as a recognised learning facility with a multi-disciplinary team.
The new Pukeroa lakefront site will include the QE Health facility alongside Pukeroa’s proposed Wai Ariki Hot Springs and Spa development.
“Although we will be offering different products these will be complementary, allowing the overall site to be promoted as a health and wellness precinct, offering services ranging from luxury spa through to clinical rehabilitation,” explains David Tapsell, Pukeroa deputy chairman.
“Given the geothermal features of the site and the Te Arawa cultural overlay that will be applied, this will be a unique offering that will be great for the city.”
The completion of QE Health’s new build and opening of the new premises is expected to be completed by mid to late 2021.
“With QEHs approximate 70 staff and the Wai Ariki Hot Springs and Spa proposing near the same for its facility, this is a significant boost for employment and the local and regional economy,” adds David.
Development funding
The new build is a joint project between QE Hospital Community Trust and QE Health Limited and will remain a Community owned asset.
