Four Reasons Why Winter is a Good Time to Sell

There is a common misconception that as we head into the coldest months of the year, your property is less likely to achieve its premium sale price. However, there are many reasons why winter is the perfect season to gain a top result.
Here’s how:
1) Easier to stand out
With typically less competition in the winter market, your home has a greater chance of standing out. During the warmer seasons, there are usually more properties listed for sale, often vying for the same purchasers.
2) Take advantage of the cold weather
When hosting viewings, you can turn the cold weather into a positive, by creating a warm, inviting reprieve indoors. Don’t forget to take care of your exterior too by clearing
leaves, and ensuring you present a tidy property inside and out.
3) Reach out-of-town buyers
We all know Taupō is a year-round destination and winter is a perfect time to reach out-of-town buyers. Over 50 percent of my sales from the past year have been to people relocating to Taupō (or investing in holiday homes).
4) Competitive buyer bidding
Limited properties on the market means there is less choice for buyers, giving vendors the opportunity of achieving a premium sale price through competitive buyer bidding – of course managed by a campaign specialist.
Thinking about listing your property for sale? I’d love to hear from you to discuss how to achieve the best price in the shortest time frame.
