Vintage and quirky – that’s how I’d describe On Site Coffee. Serving the hub of Taupo’s industrial area, Melissa May’s goal is simple: quality coffee, fast.

Having a prime location and loads of parking space (a handy tradies’ stop over), makes it easy to grab that quick fix while on the go. No need to wait in long lines or among crowded cafes anymore.

Being a local girl, with a love for coffee-making, 15 years of hospitality experience, and support from her family, Melissa found the perfect opportunity. Taking advantage of the gap in the market for good coffee in the area and the chance to have her own business, Melissa opened On Site Coffee in January this year.

More than just a caffeine hit

Quality coffee and making the perfect brew is top priority, which is why Melissa uses Coffee Supreme, a unique blend, medium dark roasted with an intense richness and complexity. You can even choose single origin beans if you’re in the mood for a different taste.

And not just the coffee beans, whether it’s sweetened with organic coconut sugar or flavoured with a spicy chai syrup, everything at On Site has its own unique, and sometimes quirky flavour.

Of course, I’ll take biscuits with that too. Baked by local suppliers with love, you’ll find a range of your favourite homemade baking – from gingernuts to Anzac cookies. And did I mention the lollies? All our kiwi favourites – milkshakes, gummy bears, milk bottles and more… what’s not to love?

On Site Coffee also sells coffee in 250g, 500g and 1kg bags. Whether you just want the beans or specifically want them ground for your machine at home, they have a specialty Swiss Retail Grinder that can custom-grind your beans for you – to any consistency you need. Now also delivering to local businesses or offices if you want to pre-order.

But wait, there’s more

Melissa’s not just stopping there. The current coffee bar now has an office upstairs with a conference room available for hire, perfect for small corporate events and functions for up to 8 people.

And up next is a new location at the Taupo Airport, providing quality, on-the-go coffee to the travellers too, soon with catering additions to both coffee bars.

Located at 19a Miro Street, On Site also provides a text-order service. Simply text your order to 021 026 17409 and pop in to pick it up. Easy!
