The Best Cuts to Cook This Summer
Summertime means backyard BBQs. There’s just something about those grill marks that makes meat so much better. To inspire you to fire up that grill and make the most of your BBQs this summer, M21 Meats have shared some of their favourite cuts to try.
Ribeye Steak
Ribeye is one of the most tender, juicy cuts you’ll find thanks to its natural marbling and fatty cap. The marbling evenly spreads the juices throughout, making it simple to cook and full of flavour. You won’t need any fancy seasonings or cooking techniques when ribeye’s on the menu!
Chicken Breasts
You can’t go wrong with grilled chicken breasts – they’re tender, moist and their versatile nature means they can be used in so many different ways. Pair with a side of veggies, salad or pasta, they’re quick, easy and crowd-friendly!
Pork Ribs
Full of flavourful fat, pork ribs are everyone’s favourite, and grilling them gives a nice, crispy touch to that heavenly barbeque flavour. Spare ribs have an even combination of meat and fat, and can take some time to cook. Whereas baby back ribs have more meat, less fat and cook faster. Worth the mess and always a hit.
Salmon Fillets
There’s no need to fear grilling fish on the BBQ. A meaty, oily fish like salmon can still work, just make sure you have a clean grill that’s well-oiled and use a spatula. Salmon is delicious and adds a little sophistication to your meal.
Butterfly Lamb Leg
A popular cut with a robust, meaty flavour. Butterflied lamb leg is ‘slash-boned’ and opened out, so it cooks much faster than a full leg and is perfect for the grill. This cut tastes best medium rare – browned and crusty on the outside, pink and juicy on the inside.
