New home for iconic wellness centre
QE Health’s new facility, set to open in December 2021, is making significant advancements in its build, with the groundworks now underway and construction set to begin in January.
After many months of planning, QE Health are delighted with progress to-date, despite the restrictions and protocols the lockdown placed on its organisation and people involved.
“The new building will offer a better client experience with high-tech equipment and innovative features, while still respecting the iconic QE feel,” enthuses Elisabeth Jackson, deputy CEO at QE Health.
The new centre will give QE Health the opportunity to grow their current services to better cater to a wider range of client needs, complimented by the highly skilled clinical and support team already in place.
“Our staff are feeling positive about the developments and are thrilled to be presenting a unique platform – a multidisciplinary centre for wellness, which intwines with geothermal and cultural offerings,” says Elisabeth.
The construction period will see between 30 and 50 people employed while the current facility remains open throughout the build.
Development funding
The new build is a joint project between QE Hospital Community Trust and QE Health Limited, with support from the government’s Provincial Growth Fund, Rotorua Energy Charitable Trust and Pukeroa Oruawhata Trust.
QE Health also welcome any further support from the wider community towards raising the funding needed to complete the build.
