A borrowed pick-up truck, $1500, and a box full of flyers (that she delivered herself) was all it took to kick-start Girls on Grass. Leaving her job as a Golf Pro for 8 years at Wairakei International, Emma followed her love for gardening and the outdoors to Whakatane, where she began her gardening business.
The climate and lifestyle in Whakatane turned out to be perfect for Emma Kunac in growing the business. From 2 part-time staff to now 7 full-time staff, Girls on Grass has developed into a strong and vibrant team. Nothing is too much trouble for them, any time of the year they are ready to weed, prune, fertilise, cut or edge your garden, transforming it or just giving it a buff, your place is in good hands.
