Te Rangi Haupapa – A woven history

In conjunction with the Tuia encounters 250 and commemorating the 155th anniversary of the Battle of Gate Pa, Te Rangi Haupapa – a woven history approaches concepts around colonisation and the aftermath of the land wars in the Bay of Plenty, specifically through a Te Ao Maori lens. An exhibition combining contemporary art and historical objects from the Bay of Plenty region offer insight into Aotearoa New Zealand’s tumultuous past.

Artists include Nikau Hindin, Te Maranui Hotene, Sarah Hudson, James Ormsby, Tawhai Rickard and Greg Semu.
